Baby Bath Supplies – Basic Needs

Baby bath time is special because it is a time when you bond with your baby, with no outside distractions.

Bath time is also an ideal daily opportunity for multi-sensorial stimulation to help enhance your baby’s learning and healthy development.  There’s even more reason to love bathing your little one, especially if you add it to your baby’s bedtime routine.

Pick a time of day when your little one is calm rested. After coming out of a warm bath, a baby’s body temperature starts to cool, which can help your little one fall asleep more easily.

Baby-BathtubLittle babies simply don’t need to bathe as often as adults. To avoid drying out the baby’s skin and worsening conditions like eczema, bathe your little one-two times per week and wash them with a mild, fragrance- and dye-free soap.

Bathing your baby can de-stress and relax them to promote a good night’s sleep. ⁣Make bath time as pleasant as possible for your baby. Know what they like and dislike.

Warm up the room where you bathe your baby, with a space heater if it’s cold so it can be as comfortable as possible. Provide them with bath toys, It will help them to relax.

Those little hands love to be busy and especially in the water! To bathe your baby, you’ll need some bathing supplies. You’ll need the right gear to make bath time safe and hassle-free.

Let’s have a look at your baby’s bath checklist!

What Do Babies Need For A Bath?

Or simply a table with a comfortable flat surface or a firm bed. Cover surfaces with a clean and soft towel, changing pad, or blanket before bathing your little angel.

When choosing a bathtub, make sure your baby is comfortable in it and it allows them to kick their feet freely in the water(they love it!)

Bath toys can help keep your baby engaged and happy during tub time. It is very important to keep your little ones’ bath toys clean.

6. Baby Lotion

Babyology Organic Baby Lotion – 100% Edible Ingredients

Mild organic, baby lotion after your baby’s bath will lock in moisture and keep your little sweetheart’s skin silky smooth.

Apply a small amount of unscented baby moisturizer(especially if your baby suffers from very dry skin) to the dry areas of your baby’s skin. The massage might make your baby feel good.

When you get the baby out of the tub, gently pat her dry and apply moisturizer immediately. You’ll probably be moisturizing plenty in between baths too.

“Moisturizers do not add moisture to the skin; they prevent moisture already in the skin from evaporating,” says “Dr. Neumann”.

Baby powders are often used to prevent or treat diaper rash around infants’ bottoms and genital areas. It is not a necessary item for babies.

“The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)” recommends against using baby powder since babies don’t really need it (or most other lotions and oils, for that matter) and it can sometimes irritate their already-sensitive, delicate skin.

7. Diaper Supplies

Baby-WipesGet some clean diapers, wipes, and diaper cream close to the baby bath
so that you can get your baby diapered and dressed quickly right after his bath.

You may use diaper cream every time you change your baby’s diaper, particularly if they are prone to rashes or have extra sensitive skin, or use it as needed.

8. Nail Clippers, Scissors, And Baby Brush Or Comb

The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Nail Clipper with Magnifier

After a warm bath, your baby’s nails will be the softest, try to trim them then. This will make it easier to trim them using baby nail scissors or clippers with rounded ends, though you’ll still need to do this carefully. Your baby’s nails require frequent clipping, trimming, or filing to keep them from scratching themselves and health reasons.

Baby-Wooden-Brush-SetWhen clipping, hold your baby’s finger, pressing the fingertip pad down and away from the nail. Gently snip following the natural curve of the fingernail, taking care that you don’t go too low and nip the quick. When tending her tiny toes, cut nails straight across.

It is very important to brush your newborn’s scalp gently to create stimulation to the scalp which promotes strong healthy hair, it also helps establish routines, creates bonding, and relaxes your baby.

Always use a soft little brush. You may also avoid cradle caps with regular brushing and grooming. A natural wooden hairbrush with soft goat bristles for cradle cap is available at
